Even though I obviously mispronounce some words, the recogniser marks them as being correct. Is this a bug in the app?

The voice recogniser is set up to be relatively lenient and forgiving when it comes to pronunciation mistakes, especially for complete beginners. In practice, the way it works is that if you say at least 60% of the sentence correctly, the recogniser will accept this. Problems occur when it comes to short words and sentences. The recogniser may be too lenient and rate inorrectly pronounced sentences or words as correct. We are currently working on a way for users to individually set their own error threshold on the voice recogniser which will eliminate this problem.

What do lessons in the Mooveez app look like?

The Mooveez app contains unique short videos that have specifically been created for language learning. Lessons on everyday life situations such as travelling, meeting someone, going to the doctor or having lunch in a restaurant. The app has a range of interactive lessons to practise listening, understanding, imitating and speaking.

Can I use the app offline?

Yes, individual lessons can be downloaded for offline use so you can continue learning without an internet connection.

Can I use Mooveez on my computer or laptop?

The Mooveez app is a mobile app designed for smartphones and tablets. It only works on Android and iOS operating systems. The Mooveez app therefore can't be downloaded onto a computer or laptop.

The app can't seem to be able to recognise my pronunciation very well. Why is that?

This can happen in particular when it comes to isolated monosyllabic words on Android devices. Our app uses a standard voice recogniser that's specifically designed for apps. Unfortunately however it has difficulty picking up short monosyllabic words. We are working on a solution to fix this problem but we know that it will take a bit of time.
