Mooveez and the Art Faculty of Charles University Are Changing the Rules of Language Learning

Imagine if you could learn a foreign language as naturally as when you were a small child. Stress free, with joy, without the need to rote learn, and by totally immersing yourself in the language.

This is exactly the vision that has guided a research project which has coupled cutting edge science with modern technology. And the result? A groundbreaking language learning method that has the potential to change the way adults learn languages all over the world.

This innovative approach is the result of a collaboration between us, the Mooveez app, and the Faculty of Arts team at Charles University (FF UK) led by Dr Kateřina Chládková. On 7 April 2025, we signed a joint agreement to collaborate on research that may usher in a new era of language learning.

Learning languages like a child - even if you’re an adult? Yes, it can be done and we will show you how!

Dr Kateřina Chládková is no newcomer to the world of language research. With her team at the SPEAKin Lab, she studies how newborns learn language and looks for ways to apply these findings to adults. And the results have been more than promising.

"Our research shows that, given the right conditions, an adult can learn a foreign language in a similar way to how a young child learns their own mother tongue," Dr Chládková elaborated.

And it is this very finding which is at the heart of the new Mooveez method. We have been working on putting the research into action in the app to support language learners in their goals. Our app provides a unique solution that guides learners through this new method step-by-step. And since our method is underpinned by scientific research and crafted by experts, learners can trust that the language journey they have embarked on with us is the right one.

A perfect blend of science and technology

What is so unique about this collaboration? It combines science-based research with practical experience and technology and the end result is a natural language learning method that we continually test and improve  - whether in the lab or through data direct from the app.

"Thanks to this collaboration, we have a unique method which we have been shaping from the best that science and teaching have to offer", Kateřina Chládková added.

Miroslav Pešta, the founder of Mooveez, sees it similarly. “We live in a groundbreaking time. With the help of the internet, smartphones and artificial intelligence, we can literally relive our childhood, but in a new language, thereby learning it effortlessly."

Together we are changing the world into one where people understand each other

Eva Lehečková, the Dean of the Arts Faculty, described the collaboration with Mooveez as an example of the perfect coupling of academic research with practical impact: "Something that has enormous potential to be truly useful is now being built on the basis of Kateřina Chládková's research findings."

And at Mooveez, we believe that this combination of science, technology and passion for languages is the key to change. We want to help people learn languages more easily, joyfully and naturally - the way it should be.
