Mooveez introduces a foreign language to you in a similar order to how children perceive it, using recordings, images, situations, and stories, step-by-step leading you to a high level of fluency. In Mooveez, two basic skills are paired in order to practise communicating: 1) perceiving and understanding the language and 2) speaking (which is technically referred to as perception and production skills). By the end, you will be ready for what’s known as a "vocabulary spurt" which will allow you to learn new vocabulary simply by using the new language, very quickly and spontaneously.

You will tune your brain into the melody and rhythm of the new language, making it easier for you to recognise individual words in the flow of speech. To do this, we use various types of listening such as prenatal, listening to emotions, and early childhood listening.

Your brain will begin to perceive and statistically sort which speech sounds occur in the new language and which words belong to them. This will eventually make it easier for you to understand words and it will automatically improve your pronunciation and ability to remember new words.

We try to limit reading and writing as much as possible because young children acquire their native language while they are still illiterate and only learn to read and write once they can communicate. Science has demonstrated that writing blocks the natural ability to learn languages. Furthermore, the written form of the language does not correspond to the actual sound of it. We also tend to read the individual letters of the language in a similar way to our own native language. Instead of learning by listening, observing, and imitating, we engage the "logical" part of the brain, which is unsuited to language learning from an evolutionary viewpoint. All of this takes away from our brain's capacity and makes learning difficult.

Your brain activates statistical learning through regular listening and it begins to distinguish which words belong to the language and which do not. A database of words (sounds) is created in the brain. The brain then adds the meanings of individual words later on.

Your brain activates cross-situational learning, in which it learns new vocabulary without rote learning or the need to memorise, simply based on several situations and sounds. For example, using three different situations and sentences (“Throw me the ball.” “Kick me the ball.” “The ball is stuck in the tree.”) the brain recognises that the word ball is the name of a round object that’s used for play. This mechanism assigns meanings to individual words that have been recognised as well as the correct contexts in which they occur.

And stories also play an irreplaceable role in language learning. In this video, Mooveez founder Miroslava Pešta introduces you to this fundamental building block of the Mooveez app.
You will learn to understand and confidently recognise key vocabulary in the flow of speech with the help of forty images that are gradually illustrated and accompanied by a narration. Roughly 650 of the most commonly used words are used in around 80% of everyday communication. With this method, you can master the vocabulary in just a few weeks.

You will begin to use the language yourself, initially in the form of simple short sentences set into the context of stories and short real-life situations. We use a natural process that ensures that you learn the dialogue without the need to study it. First, you watch the conversation in a video, then you
• learn to understand it,
• imitate the dialogue,
• and finally, you are able to recall it in its entirety.
So just like children do. Without any unnecessary overload of grammar. You’ll find hundreds of short conversations like that in the app.

We will inspire you to listen to the new language every day and allow your brain to "crack” the secret code of the language. Through regular listening, your brain will begin to perceive which speech sounds occur together, which parts of words stay the same, and which change. In short, you will begin to get a feel for the language and to understand the grammar without any explanation.

Our Forte family stories which train you in fully fledged communication are set into a story. When creating them, we made sure that they contained the most commonly used vocabulary up to B2 level, as well as the key grammar and skills that you need to master everyday communication on almost any topic.

We would like to share a great article with you that was recently published in the prestigious Forbes magazine:
A more scientific Duolingo. With the help of a Czech app, you can learn foreign languages just like a small child does.
After reading the headline, you might ask yourself the following question: Can adults learn like little children do? That's impossible! But research by linguist Kateřina Chládková’s team from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University has presented a truly revolutionary idea in foreign language learning. The adult brain can learn a new language just like a child's brain does because we don't lose this ability with age. Has this piqued your interest? In a great interview done by Forbes magazine with Kateřina Chládková, you’ll learn much more, including how our Mooveez app implements these scientific findings into its curriculum and learning features.
Although we offer the option to learn for free for a certain period of time, this is more of a taster of how you could learn. A whole range of lessons and skills will remain closed to you since they are only available in the paid version.
If you purchase a PREMIUM subscription, you won’t get distracted by the ads that we are forced to show in the free version. These distractions have several negative side effects. Your brain switches its attention to things that aren’t related to the language and it also has to switch to a language other than the one you are learning, thus reducing the overall effectiveness of your learning. In order to master a language well, it’s important to immerse yourself in it for around an hour per day in total without being interrupted.
Many lessons are only available in the paid version. We strive to make the PREMIUM version much more effective and attractive for our paying users, since after all, they pay us for it. And this difference between the content available in the paid and free versions will continue to grow.
You can learn any language available in the app (even several languages at once) while in the free version you can only learn one language.
This is not a cliché, it’s a proven fact. Once you make a financial commitment, your motivation, determination, and attention increase. You increase your chances of progressing in the language because you are making a firm decision. The change in your language skills occurs consistently due to the right kind of environment that stimulates your innate abilities.
